I was inspired by the song “michael has been fired from his job, michael has been burnt to death” by the musician No Love In The House Of Gold. I was also inspired by themes of work culture, corporations, and late-stage capitalism.

I enjoy aquarium-like environments combined with the feelings of nostalgia and dreams. This piece is made to be inspired by those feelings along with the art aesthetic of “dream core.”

For this piece, I wanted to experiment with abstract art-specifically line art. I drew a continuous, swirly line over the page and used darker colors to fill in the remaining gaps with designs and blocks of color.

I made this for the music artist Godforbid as a test piece to see how my updated style translated in the projects we are working on. I tried a new style out by using line art to fill up any “empty” space in the art such as the jacket and floor.
